Ian Barrington

Artists Bio
Born London, UK. Grad. BA hons Fine Art University of Westminster.
Ian is an accomplished artist, being known moreso for his vivid illustrative style works. He is from South-East London now living between London and Catalonia, having worked extensively in the arts since the early 1990s, he has worked within Graphic Design, Haute Couture and Education .
His current muralist style influenced by American Graffiti and Street Art; centres on Hope and ascension, or falling to depths of disillusionment and despair. His segmented paintings illustrate different aspects and juxtaposed perspectives of the same journey, with a kitsch notion of life and death and fusing together social idealism and derailment, religious iconography from Buddhism to Christianity, together with modern culture, blended with reinventions of eons old scenes of joy, pain, freedom and fear.

My path of exploration into realms of heaven and hell constructs is a metaphor of what appears to be the end and beginning of a new era, the digital era has brought a cease of fable, mystery and innocence to a great extent and replaced with a world in meta-stasis seemingly built on instant gratification.
